Das Auffinden von Nullstellen von Polynomen ist eine wichtige mathematische Aufgabenstellung, in einem algebraischen Abschluss kann zumindest deren Existenz gesichert werden. Tatsächlich kann man zeigen, dass es zu jedem Körper einen algebraischen Abschluss gibt.
